Can’t get the board to turn off the wind. I try to twist w my hips and move the wing forward but it just carves back head to wind!

Great tutorial. My tip is do this on skateboard (if comfortable on skateboard) in parking lot. U almost don’t need wind if slightly downhill. Get wing handling down on skateboard. Fantastic way to learn. 2 nd tip don’t try to learn it on huge wings. Likely to go thru the wing when it back winds and drops in water. Instead of first place in 5k going thru ribbon u trash ur new wing. Wait for windier days to get on med size wings. ( easier to not drop in water, harder to backwind or go faster than wind). 3rd tip if u don’t like fast crashes Maby be on low aspect big begginger foil, not overpowered on wing. Enjoy crashing. 3rd tip is be snaking a bit on your passes, get comfortable turning. 4th tip I still haven’t done one on foil but soon!!

Hey, I just tried sup foiling on flatwater with the 115l version of the Duotone Downwinder and the Fanatic high aero aspect 2000 wing for the first time, but after a couple strokes the board immediately turns and doesn’t go straight. I have a 75cm mast, so it’s quite confusing. Any tips?

For light wind wingfoiling (10~12 mph), would there be a significant advantage to choose the 1100?

HA800 is an incredible foil ! I use it for winging and never came a cross such a good foil. Very accessible for a high aspect foil

Hi, Thank you for the review. Regarding the 800 in wing, I find it complicated in 75 cm mast, close-hauled the leeward wingtip easily comes out of the water.

Man, winging is way harder than kiting. I was throwing backroll kiteloops after only a couple months while kiting. Took me as long on the wing to get the jibe down. 1 year later and I'm just barely, baaaarely solving the upwind tack.

Excellent specific correction with a simple solution. It is easy to see from the explanation and demo how the wing is naturally guided into the new direction with this method.

I love my Lift v2. This thing totally changed my lifestyle and increased my fitness exponentially!!!! 50yrs old and feel like a kid again. No regrets and I’d spend more knowing what I know now.

i have 72 ...Wing foil is better than windsurf for my knees. But no good for my shoulders. Have fun too

What About renting a beginnersset. Like for x weeks. As Soon as you are able to make your first flights, then purchase your gear?

So can wing foil without changing the mass? The reason ask is I planned on getting a efoil then later get a wing using an efoil with a folding prop until I get wing foiling down. Then buy a mass or whole new wing foil set up

First and foremost, kudos to you for explaining how to do wing onpaddle board. It’s the most clear concise explanation I’ve ever heard. I will totally use my paddle board first. All these steps will help me concentrate on managing my kite at this time. Most of all any videos you made in the past is very interesting just to listen to your French accent!! Foils feel amazing in the hands can’t wait to get them in the water this weekend!

The 130x- turns like surfv2 100 and glides like the ha120 with the lift of the 200. I love it. It’s literally the most stable small foil I have rode, in a turn and gliding flat from bump push, is just something you have to ride to believe. I’m 150lbs and was riding the Florence tail. Honestly will go with a bigger carve or flow tail. I’m not at the level for all the negative shim on the Florence tail.

Enjoyed the episode! I have a long history windsurfing/kiting, but always good to remember the basic stuff which we take for granted and is now natural instinct! Great points on beginners learning how wind directions work and how to read the texture of the water and how to read swell/waves/conditions! LMAO, on Damien's "walk of shame" comments, no matter how good we think we are, we all still end of there! 🤣

I think a mountain board is a cheap and safe alternative to a ham board to practice on land for a beginner. It is more forgiving, i.e potentially less responsive than a skateboard or surfskate. What do you think? Is it realistic enough for an expert like yourself?

SUP skating would be a great way to work on my weakside stance! I wing skate regularly and it is really fun and helps me to better understand the optimal wing to wind angles.
